    02/08/2018

Asharqia Chamber, represented in Asharqia Young Businessmen Council, organized a workshop entitled, "the challenges of entrepreneurs in the Eastern region" on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.

The participants stressed that there are great efforts to improve the business environment in general and small and medium enterprises in particular, but the latter still suffer from a lot of conditions in the procedures, as well as the difference of these procedures from one side to another.

They demanded the unification of procedural requirements in a unified regulation to be committed by all bodies and entities.

Small and medium enterprises also faced a problem with the employment of national workers and their lack of continuity on the job for a long time.

They pointed out that the solution lies in the gradual replacement until the full opportunity for the training programs to achieve productive national outputs.

They noted the difficulties they face in obtaining funding; the proportion of financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) does not exceed 5% of total funding, which is small compared to global rates.

They called for the importance of intensifying efforts to help these enterprises to obtain funding and to urge financial institutions to increase the proportion of funding to 20% in order achieve the Kingdom's efforts to increase its contribution to 35% in GDP.

The representatives of Asharqia Young Businessmen Council discussed the eight programs map that is adopted by Asharqia Young Businessmen Council and the objectives that it seeks to achieve, as a part of the objectives of the vision of the Kingdom of 2030.

The most recent of which is "Tayseer," which was launched by the Council in order to help facilitate the obstacles faced by young people through the conclusion of agreements and the launching of initiatives with government agencies and financing companies of all kinds; providing financing solutions for entrepreneurs; seeking to reduce government licensing fees; contributing to facilitating government action at the start of business; as well as helping to ease the procedures for obtaining national employment.
